In a gruesome incident, a man killed his daughter's lover whom she had eloped with after being forced to marry against her wishes, in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district on Tuesday.
The girl's family did not approve of her relationship with him and got her married to another man against her wishes.
Two weeks later,18-year-old Menaka eloped with her lover Sivakumar. On discovering that she was living with him near a village near Manamadurai town, her father and brother tricked the couple to return to Sivaganga where Sivakumar was murdered.
Menaka, who was grievously injured in the attack, was admitted to government hospital at Madurai where her condition was stated to be serious, police said.
