I'm sure you've seen a ton of inspirational sports stories. I hesitated to see it, and you're likely to the point where you sometimes ignore new additions to the genre itself. Don't ignore Gracie. What I like about Gracie is that every time you expect the story to go in a likely direction (ie the happy and cheerful one), it goes the opposite way.

Sure, it's inspirational, but it's more about a girl who just wants to do what she grew up loving. It's not her fault that her school board decides soccer isn't for girls. The acting is great by all involved... you'll certainly come around with the dad - or not - in the story. Carly Schroeder as Gracie will knock you out with her performance.
